Performance Assessment: Application of Healthcare Business and Financial Management Principles – BOP2
Performance Assessment: Application of Healthcare Business and Financial Management Principles – BOP2 The recent recession and slow economy, as well as the Affordable Care Act, have forced the U.S. healthcare system to find better ways to provide effective care for less money. Providers and facilities of health care must show the government, payers, and the public that they offer high-quality, safe, and affordable care. The new reality for organizations and providers in the healthcare field is to become the provider of choice while closely managing business costs and making sure they get paid the right amount.
This assessment asks you to show that you understand the complex healthcare environment of today and to use the business and financial skills you’ve learned to come up with a plan to move your organization from fee-for-service (FFS) to value-based purchasing (VBP) (VBP). You will figure out where your organization stands and what its plan is for meeting VBP requirements. You will need to figure out who the key players are, such as board members, the senior leadership team, doctors, directors, managers, staff, patients, and their families. You will also need to list the most important parts of your organization, such as nursing, clinical support departments, case management, supply chain, education, finance, decision support, risk management, revenue cycle, medical staff office, physician services, physician practices, community and public relations, and marketing. Think about the different roles and responsibilities of each department and stakeholder group, and decide which roles should be in a strategic plan you will make.
Your strategic plan will have parts to teach, talk about, organize, and keep an eye on the tactics you want to use. You will figure out what the clinical and customer service parts of VBP will be in the next three years. You will also come up with a plan to find, educate, and inform all stakeholders about the organization’s vision to provide excellent patient care and the highest possible reimbursements in the next three years.

To pass this task, you need to be good at professional communication. Before turning in your final work, you should definitely check it for spelling and grammar.
