How to write an interprofessional Collaboration nursing essay (Solved)
Professional nursing practice is an aspect that involves how nurses work, collaborate, communicate, and develop to provide quality care to patients (Ageiz et al., 2021). While practicing professionally, interprofessional collaboration is a theme that must be recognized and practiced. It involves working together with individuals from different healthcare teams to make decisions that impact patients’ lives (Karam et al., 2018). I have learned that all technical aspects of care occur in the context of human relationships and that working together with other individuals is inevitable. Creating healthy relationships at work remains the only solution to promote interprofessional collaboration and teamwork.
I have come to accept that different perspectives of people in multiple disciplines is crucial. One of the strengths observed regarding interprofessional collaboration is teamwork. Teamwork means embracing respecting the role of other people and embracing mutual respect across all disciplines (Schot et al., 2020). Secondly, I have observed that I am good at being genuinely interested in other people, especially how they work and the type of effort they bring to the team. Being interested in what others bring to the table is important because it opens one’s mind to a variety of options to solve healthcare problems.
One of the main barriers to interprofessional collaboration is lack of time and training (Etherington et al., 2021). Working in teams requires one to dedicate a reasonable amount of time and I believe I need to improve on this aspect. The constant communication required when working in interprofessional teams may be difficult to achieve if time is a limiting factor. To address this challenge, coaching mentorship could be the most appropriate solution. This resource serves to enrich learners with knowledge and expertise on how to deal with common healthcare challenges (Baker et al., 2021). Overall, interprofessional collaboration is a good approach to improving the quality in healthcare delivery today.
