LAB The Heart and Sheep Heart Dissection 3 Learning Outcomes Students will complete a dissection of a sheep heart Students will identity anatomical structures of the heart. Students will identify the correct pathway of blood flow through the heart Materials Heart models Directing tray and tools Sheep heart Introduction Understanding the function of the heart first requires an understanding of its anatomy. In this lab, you will work with a heart model to identify the major anatomical structures of the heart. Once you can identify the structures on the model, you will then dissect a sheep heart, which has many similarities to a human heart. Finally, you will trace the pathway of blood flow through the heart Part A: Heart Model Labeling Label Figure 3-1 with the corresponding numbers of anatomcal structures listed.
