100% Original Nursing PICOs; PICO is an evidence-based approach used to outline the four major elements of a good clinical question (Elkins, 2010). It is also known as PICOT. It frames the question, locates it, assesses it, and repeats it as needed. The elements include P– problem, patient or population, I- Intervention or Indicator, C– comparison, O– outcome,T– time element, or the type of study. In most cases, T is optional.
